Helpful Hints
Show times are listed on the Calendar on the Main Page
Please be on premise 30 min before Showtime as there may be problems with the order of bands and whatnot. Also out of respect for each band please be there early even if you do not play until later. If they have to stay for your set you should be there for the opening bands as well.
There is little load in room and no designated load in times. Feel it out when you get here.

Sets should be 45 minutes to 1 hour, assuming three bands.

Band members can be held responsible for any damaged equipment. If you feel the need to break something make sure it is yours.
Merchandising is encouraged. The Boobie Trap does not ask for any percentage of sales.

Show Cancellations: 24 hour notice of any cancellation is required or band may be held in breach of contract and responsible for money lost as direct result of your absence; soundman, doorman, etc.

Standard pay policy: Door receipts to be divided equally among bands. Minimum -$50.00 from door to go to sound man. $2-3 for each under 21 admission will be also be retained. Also, if you are going last show up early and if you are going first do not leave early, please support the other bands. Someone must be present at the end of the night to accept payment. Management has the right to make adjustments to the pay policy, solo acts may get a smaller cut, touring bands may get a little extra if split is small, etc.

UPDATE 3/1/11 - Presale tickets are now available to bands. Contact Brian to get these mailed to you or pick them up at The Trap.

To break the pay down assuming a mix of Under 21, over 21, and some VIP passes you are getting basically $4 a person that goes to the bands.

13 persons paid = $50 to Sound guy.

50 persons paid = $150 to bands to split.

88 persons paid = $302 to bands to split.

So if you are thinking you need to make $50 off the door then your goal is at least 17 people or so, more if you are the local to do your part. And remember, people just don't show up, you have to invite them and usually it needs to be personally and not just a flyer or a myspace bulletin. Get phone numbers, direct emails or whatever it takes to get folks off their couches and out to see your band.

GUEST LIST - each band is allowed one guest per member if you chose. Mom's, Dad's,  and Grandparents many times make up your crowd so if you choose to let them in for free then understand if every band let's one in per person and there are 4 bands thats like 20 peeps and $100 dollars lost. The Trap will also generally have a short guest list, employees etc.

Your pay is in direct relationship to the local or lack thereof you secure. If you are booked on a Tue without a local we may have some folks but do not be surprised if the crowd is light. I try to help out as many touring bands as I can but I cannot force kids to come out for bands they have never heard of, but I do my best. However if you book say a Thu with a solid local then your expectations of having a pretty good night should be good.

NOTE: Do not rely on door sales alone to make your trip to the Trap profitable. If your band brings in a majority of underage fans then the Trap will keep the above mentioned door money. Merchandising is the key to making profits for your band. As all the bands that have met me know that I am not some 'fat cat' looking make a bunch of money of kids in bands. The bands are making music, I am trying to make a living. When you see me driving that Porsche then I will expect you to come bitchin'.

I post flyers at the local college, Washburn University, run an add in the college paper, and try to keep the flyers in the local music stores up to date. I work on my web site daily to keep new content and create polls and whatever else I can think of to keep interest in the site. I can do little more to get fans to the shows. With the addition of MySpace.com, Facebook and others I have over 18,000+  friends so the kids know about your show, you just have to give them a reason to get off their butts and come see you :o)
